Description

These channels are spot welded to the rear quarter on the underside and to the rear body panel to create the lip needed for the gasket. Your trunk rubber weatherstrip gasket glues here. They can be used on any 63-64 classic Chevy except wagon models. This 2 piece set is for the driver and passenger side.

applications:

1963-1964 Chevy Impala

1963-1964 Bel Air

1963-1964 Biscayne

The trunk lid opening where your weatherstripping attaches is a common area prone to rust, the weatherstrip gutters were designed to collect the water from the roof and the back window to shed off the back the car. It’s only a matter of time before the mix of water, salt, and mud causes corrosion to form. Before you know it, you see the dreaded paint bubbles starting to form around the lip of the weatherstrip channel, by this time it may already be compromised allowing water to drip into the trunk floor area and cause more damage.

All of our trunk weatherstrip gutters are constructed of heavy gauge stamped steel that meets or exceeds the thickness of the original body panel that it’s replacing. The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part, which means that these aftermarket panels will be an exact match to the original part’s shape. Since the panels are an exact match, the old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place.

Each panel has an EDP coating for additional corrosion protection. The e-coating leaves a black finish that can be scuffed and painted over. For best finishing results we recommend scuffing the e-coat, priming, and then top coating with an automotive grade paint.

When you're ready to repair or replace the body panels on your car, look no further than Body Shop Price for the best quality parts on the market.
